    Last Four Months (Part 2)

    Hello again,

    As promised...

    IMG_4527

    Caltopia.  seriously so fun.

    IMG_4528

best time to go: near to end when they randomly give out free stuff.

    IMG_4529

my favorite items: tote bags, frisbee, water canteens,

highlighter, 2 tickets to a virtual ride in pier 39.

    IMG_4559

    narae+richard's birfday (bday twins!).  it's become a

tradition to celebrate bdays together.taste of the himalayas

(on shattuck-highly recommend), then cake and bonanza.

    carrie is a cutie!

    A peek into our life:

    1. magazines you'll find in our wooden water pail/magazine holder: Time, Good Housekeeping, Table Talk, Pottery Barn/Williams Sonoma

    2. what we hulu: Monk, Bones, Extreme House Makeover

    3. how house chores are divided up: Richard (trash, moving heavy stuff), Patty (everything else)

    4. what we've been meaning to do on dates: Japanese Tea Garden, dim sum place in SF

    5. what you'll find in our freezer: frozen Korean food to last for the next 5 years (maybe just 2 weeks) thanks to momlee & mommyung, ice cream (gelato or Haagen Daz ice cream bars -- vanilla with milk chocolate and almonds)

    6. favorite place to read/study: Cafe Pattay (on Blake and Ellsworth), usually other places are crowded, too far away, etc.

    7. project of the moment: using the studfinder to hang wedding pictures

    8. next project: real Christmas tree after Thanksgiving!  xmas decoration too, of course!

    9. funniest morning moment: i set my alarm a few minutes before RL's to help him wake up.  my phone starts playing an usher song at 6 am.  too tired to say or do anything else, i put the phone up to RL's face.  he then starts dancing in bed.  i go back to sleep.

    10. flowers at the moment: a bushel of bright yellow carnations in a pumpkin pot, cheery gerbera daisies (red, pink, orange, and white)...my fave!

    11. that's it :)

I wanted to include our one-monthaversary but couldn't find the pictures.  Needless to say, it was small and special -- handmade cupcake banner, see's candy+handmade card w. powder puff girl, heartfelt card, simple dinner, and "i'm thankful for..." notepads.

    mr. rl is so funny

    hello,

just wanted to share something funny...

as you know, i always sleep later than richard.  by the time i'm ready to sleep, richard is almost always knocked out.

((oh yes...we have about a dozen pillows on the bed (i love pillows--esp big fluffy ones).  ohkay i exaggerate...maybe only 4 (two for rl two for me).  the smaller ones we sleep with and the bigger ones, well...(i use it but rl's usually is thrown on the chair).

continuing...>>>i walk in one night and richard's asleep, but i think it's strange cuz my side of the bed (which is usually untouched before i sleep) looks kinda messy.  the smaller pillow is askew and the bigger pillow is pulled down so it's parallel to richard's body.

me: "richard, why is the pillow pulled down?"

    rl: silence...sleeping?

me: *epiphany* is the pillow me??

    rl: silence...half-awake...yes.

me: *cracking up*  hahahahah (i think i start shaking richard at this point cuz it's so funny)

now whenever i walk in the room, my big pillow is always next to rl.

conclusion: must try to sleep at the same time as rl.

    --edit:

i was reminded of another incident:

rl was sleeping on the sofa, then he suddenly wakes up and says, "patty, i won all the green property playing monopoloy!!".

    (his fave color is green).

hahahha i'm always laughing when with rl.  love it!

    IMG_2196

    bam.

    okay that's it!

that day was exhilarating.  surrounded by friends and family who love and support us is one of the best things in the world.  i had such a great time with the wedding party, and of course...with my handsome hubby (shhh i changed his nickname to "chubby hubby").

    ~

    Note:

    some "upkeeps" i've found helpful:

-wiping down the trash cans (almost) everytime i take out the trash [cuts down on smell]

-changing/washing kitchen towels often [nothing beats fresh towels, need to have at least 2 packs to do this]

-if don't have time to wipe down hardwood floors, at least vacuum them [rids the big pieces that are unpleasant to step on]

-candles are great odor-removers and pleasant to look at!

-if don't use dishwasher but store dishes in there, run it every two weeks or so [keeps it clean]

-febreze clothes instead of washing them everytime [faded is no good]

    bye :)

    Wedding, Honeymoon, etc.

    Helloooo...

Here is the link for our online proofs from the wedding day:http://www.sunsetstudio.com/proofs/90935.  You'll be proud to hear I submitted my photo choices for the wedding album...now I must get working on the engagement album...I will do this after VBS week is over :D.

Honeymoon was relaxing, and I miss it sometimes!  Food was fresh and delicious--papaya, pineapple, yogurt, ahi tuna tacos, kobe beef, island sausage, shrimp, filet mignon, yummm.  Here are some photos:

    honeymoon 072

Hotel was right on the beach!  Needless to say, we were there morning and night.

    honeymoon 073

Body surfing was so fun!  Water was super salty.

    honeymoon 096

Water was amazingly warm and clear.

    honeymoon 251

    Lei!  Yay!

    honeymoon 265

    Richard looks so chill here.

    honeymoon 087

In the hallway of our hotel room.  They were so eco-friendly!  If you opened the patio door, the ac automatically turned off.

    honeymoon 391

Luai on western side of Oahu.  You wear flowers on the left side if you're married :D.  Right side if you're single.

    honeymoon 432

    Aloha!

    honeymoon 454

    Our hotel!

    honeymoon 459

Richard wasn't feeling well...so he took a long nap.  After eating some yogurt, fruit, and muffins...watching tv...looking at the view...I got bored so took pictures.  I need eye cream!

    honeymoon 465

Our last day in Hawaii...we had yummy food!  It was my first time at Benihana.  I was missing out!  Thanks Mr. RL for showing me the ins and outs of ordering.  The fried rice was greatttt.

    honeymoon 482

    Onion volcano.

    honeymoon 514

    I can't ever be a lifeguard bc I won't like the water :(.

    honeymoon 516

    I like the orange!

    honeymoon 462

View from our hotel room.  We were in the hub of activity.  We walked everywhere!

    honeymoon 486

At the Hilton after dinner :).

Next time I will update on our one-month mini-celebration :).

I've been learning to daily die to myself and serve joyfully, faithfully, and selflessly.  I think it's good for me :).  On the last day of the honeymoon, I think I surprised Richard by bursting into tears...I missed my family and it finally hit me that I was married.  I think it was also caused by me falling asleep at 10 pm and waking up at 2 am to get ready to go home.  Coming home was great!  Reb & Brian had cleaned our whole house and left signs everywhere to welcome us.  Reb made us dinner :).

    Ciao!

    Post-Wedding Part I

The whirlwind has come and gone...and sometimes I miss planning for the wedding :).

I shall post wedding pictures (well just the link), honeymoon pictures, and post-wedding pictures very soon...

But thank you to everyone who was able to make the trek down to LA!

I think one of the biggest blessings was coming back after the honeymoon...I was floored by the generosity of our family and friends.  I honestly did not expect or did not want much for a wedding gift...after all the economy is ehh and our friends aren't rolling in the dough (yet...if you're close to it please remember the little people!).

Anywho, some of the gifts RL and I particularly enjoyed (sans givers' names cuz it'll embarrass them):

-lovely anthropologie lamp to decorate my pseudo-vanity table with

    -engraved picture frame

    -crazy lcd tv

-ps3!  rl particularly liked this one.  my jaw just dropped.

    -registry gifts (aren't they fun?)

    And so much more!

Really, the generosity of others really touched me (made me a little teary-eyed) and spurred me on to love others in the same way.  It reminded me of His generosity (all the spiritual blessings!).

I simply adored all the cards...I'm keeping them all in a scrapbook.  Thank you thank you!

Even though it seems like I'm very out-of-it and all-over-the-place at times (which is true 90% of the time)...I really do remember each-and-every-one of your faces who came to celebrate with us and your more-than-generously-amazing-gifts.  I really don't deserve it!  I'm realizing that the presence of others is encouragement itself.

Sigh...those are just some thoughts that have leaked out of my ears and have been whirling around my head...

    Wedding Update #5

    Hello,

    1. So thankful for the lovely and patient ms. towner.  i think i would give up if it wasn't for her!  it's a blast working on the little details/stationary.  i really admire her attention to detail and perseverance (she works while i watch taylor swift-love song:).

    2. lodging for peeps is taken care of :).  i would definitely recommend expedia.com!

    3. found gorgeous gown(s) at 2nd place i went to.  (strapless, vneck, and halter...sheepish grin).  i love them all!

    4. bm dresses look really classy on the girls.  i adore the full length.  my bms are all beyond beautiful!

    5. the second thing i'm excited about re: wedding details (first being stationary) is the wedding bands.  looking forward to seeing mine.

    6. i wish. . . i could invite e.v.e.r.y.o.n.e. but alas, i am limited in resources.  i still love all my friends!

    7. so fun getting ty gifts for all our wonderful helpers; i think.i'm.kinda.obsessed.w.buying.gifts.  (reb agrees with me).

    --

    as promised, prentiss poems>>

    the power of Christ's blood

oh is it possible that i, a sinner,
shall be, one day, a saint?
that life's hard conflict ever shall be over,
    and ended all complaint?

shall i be cleansed and washed, and then invited
    to be the Master's guest?
has He a bridal robe for me provided,
in which i shall be drest?

it cannot be!  it seems as if such records
    as stand against my name,
could not be wiped away, must stand forever
    to be my lasting shame.

oh Jesus, make me know what half i'm knowing
    the power of Thy blood,
plunge Thou this faithless and this sinful creature
    deep, deep within its flood!

    --

little susy books by prentiss/ you can read them here:

    http://www.readseries.com/susy-ch1.html

    / a fav. part...~it's so wonderfully enchanting~

"What is my little Susy thinking about?"

"I don't know, mamma." But after a moment she said, "Will God mind it if I do not know how to pray so well as big people?"

Her mamma said, "Once a little girl did or said something naughty, and her papa punished her for it by saying he should not kiss her for two hours. She sat down, feeling very sad and sorrowful, and wishing her papa would forgive her; and at last she thought she would write him a little note, tell him how sorry she was, and ask him to forgive her. She did not know how to write very well, and her little note was full of blots and mistakes. But she ventured to carry it up to his study, and put it into his hands. Now when her papa opened the little note, and saw all those blots and mistakes, do you suppose he said, 'Oh, I can't forgive a child who writes so badly as that?' No, he said, 'Papa forgives his little darling gladly; he loves to forgive her!' And he took her in his arms and kissed her again and again.

"Now, when little children pray to God, I suppose their prayers do have some mistakes and blots on them. They are poor little prayers. But they are all heard by 'gentle Jesus, meek and mild;' the same Jesus who once took children in his arms and blessed them; and he loves every little sorry heart, and will give it all it asks for."

Susy was comforted, and her mamma kissed her many times, and then told her to go out with Robbie, to roll hoop.

~He loves to forgive!  how foolish am i to think that my follies are greater than His grace.  how patient He is with my weak prayers.  i think like little susy too sometimes...
